Dear Reeve and Members of Council,

I am writing in support of the proposed Métis Community Village: 50 winterized one- and two-bedroom homes for Red River Métis citizens on four acres in the RM of Rosser. I ask Council to approve the rezoning and servicing agreements required to let this project proceed.

• The village adds fifty permanently occupied, fully serviced residences to the RM's assessment roll on a single four-acre parcel, with all internal roads, water lines, and snow clearing maintained privately by the village rather than by the municipality.

• Red River Métis households in and around Winnipeg are paying well above their means for substandard rental housing. This project houses 50 of them at $600 a month — the exact provincial shelter maximum — with ownership at the end of ten years.

• Every shell is certified to CSA A277 before delivery, and the site is designed to the Manitoba Building Code including a twenty-foot plow-and-fire-apparatus perimeter loop reaching every unit entry.

This project asks the municipality for approvals, not money. I respectfully urge Council to grant them.
